Poussin

A Poussin is a young chicken weighing between 350g and 450g.
The Canter Valley Poussin are derived from the Ross bird.

The meat has a delicate flavour, not dissimilar to chicken, but is more tender and succulent in texture. Canter Valley sell a range of Poussin reared by a specialist producer, in small flocks, on a specially selected local farm in North Canterbury. The birds are fed on a wholesome, cereal-based diet which contains no antibiotic growth promotants.
